It's funny how time distorts things. It's a typical movie line and of course, we are all just trying to live our lives, avoiding cliches in movies and such. However, I always can't help but feel that's it true. It's true how time is able to heal, to cure, to worsen or to even lengthen anything, tangible or not. Time melts a bar of chocolate left in a room. Time allows your hair to grow longer before you realize it needs a trim. Time accompanies you as you spend your life watching the people around you change. Time allows you to make a film or a painting. If anyone can tell me without any hesitation and with full confidence, what's the best way to measure the time it takes for something to happen in one's life, then I'll take whatever I said back. For now, I know time; it's capable of creating distance between people. I know I'm not the first one to say this but we do take time for granted. Time can take away your wax. I'll explain; you see, over time, two people grow accustomed to each other, the past tends to get forgotten along the way and the future becomes important. Time. It takes you hostage and makes you witness this glowing yellow light turn into a tangy orange and then the thread attached to the silver plate at the end of the candle. I've always felt that somehow, if I had paid more attention to the candle burning away so quickly, I would have remembered to blow it out and save some light for later. Time is like a whore. It lures you into something so quick, so easy, so hard to resist, it forces you to make rash decisions in your head… ironically, not even giving you enough time to weigh out your options. Open your eyes. Don't let time take away your wax, yet.
